Hokkaido zoo’s raccoon dogs become video stars | NHK WORLD-JAPAN News

A video of raccoon dogs playing in fallen leaves at a zoo in Hokkaido, northern Japan, has gone viral on Twitter.

The two fluffy friends, Shiro and An, are seen frolicking in a thick carpet of autumn foliage.

The footage has been viewed more than 1.8 million times in two weeks and has gained more than 130-thousand “likes.”

The keeper at Obihiro Zoo who shot the video says he hit upon the idea of using the leaves as a backdrop because the animals have a habit of searching for hidden food.
