Disney World Delays Resort Reopenings: Polynesian, Art Of Animation, More


Disney has delayed the reopening dates for several resorts and canceled the reopening dates of others.

Schedule Changes

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resortdelayed from August 12 to October 4.  Note that the Disney Vacation Club room at the Polynesian Village Resort reopened on June 22 and remain open for DVC members and guests.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resortdelayed from August 12 to November 1.  Note that Disney’s Pop Century Resort, which is next to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, reopened on July 10 and remains open for all guests.

Disney’s Beach Club Resort – originally set to reopen August 24, but will now remain closed with no reopening date set at this time.

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn – originally set to reopen October 1, but now will remain closed with no reopening date set at this time.

Existing Plans

At this time, Disney still plans to reopen these resorts as previously announced:

  • Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort – July 29
  • Disney’s Yacht Club Resort – August 24
  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa – September 21
  • Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort – October 14
